Finding Your Flock

We've all experienced it; the people who celebrate our wins, and those who subtly (or not so subtly) question whether we're "ready" for the next level.

Here's what I've learned: your environment shapes your trajectory more than your talent ever will.

Think about migration patterns in nature. Birds don't hesitate when it's time to move. They don't overthink the journey or wait for perfect conditions. They trust their instincts and their community.

Yet many of us remain stuck, not because we lack capability, but because we're waiting for certainty that will never come. We overanalyze. We seek permission. We choose familiarity over growth.

But comfort is expensive. It costs you momentum, opportunity, and potential.

In business and in life, the people you surround yourself with set the standard for what's possible.

Your partners, mentors, and peers aren't just companions on the journey. They actively shape how far you'll travel. They either:

• Challenge you to stretch beyond your current capacity
• Or reinforce the ceiling you've already built for yourself

The difference between stagnation and acceleration often comes down to this single factor: are you surrounded by people who match your ambition?

Take a moment for honest self-reflection:

Am I truly with my flock?

Are the people around you lifting you higher, or subtly anchoring you to where you've always been? Do they share your vision for what's possible, or do they need you to stay small so they feel comfortable?

This isn't about abandoning people or becoming ruthless. It's about recognizing that alignment matters, and sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself is to seek out those who are flying in the same direction.

You don't need everyone to understand where you're headed. You just need a few who are heading there with you.

The right circle won't just support your growth, they'll demand it. They'll refuse to let you settle. They'll remind you of what you're capable of when doubt creeps in.

So ask yourself again: Am I with my flock?

If the answer is no, it might be time to look up and see who's already soaring at the altitude you're meant for.
